VESPERS DESCENT exists to create music that engages the listener, never content to just follow, but to strive and push the boundary's that forge its sound. Working under the monicker of melodic death metal the band incorporates many directions and styles, some of them clearly visible while others more unseen. The result, complex death metal that incorporates a myriad of elements, without ever sounding derived. With two critically acclaimed releases, an Australian tour, numerous national and international support slots behind them VESPERS DESCENT are determined to shift their music to new horizons.

Originally the brain child of guitarist Grant Burns and vocalist Jack Wolsk VESPERS DESCENT was conceived in June of 2001, working their influences from early technical death metal, to the melodic sounds of the Gothenburg, the band has progressed with the addition of each new member. The Current lineup, Grant Burns (guitar), Ben Mazzarol (drums), Richard Clements (vocals), Shannon Over (guitar) and Adam Fitzgerald (bass) is the strongest to date. VESPERS DESCENT entered the studio to produce their third release the "Reality Dysfunction", Which is hoped will be released early 2008.
