Sporting members of numerous Perth Metal acts, most notably Pathogen, The Furor and Maximum Peversion, the romantically named Cuntscrape are here to unleash 20 tracks of porn-obsessed Grindcore with some Death Metal, Rock elements and a whole lot of pornographic samples thrown in for good measure.

If the band name, cover art and song titles such as the Hardcore Punk-drenched 'Thanks For The Mammaries' and 'Drenched In Vaginal Stench' aren't a dead giveaway, let me spell it out for you: the band's debut release is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended, but Grind fans would have it no other way. Combining influences ranging from early The Locust and Birdflesh to the Rock-infused material of Blood Duster on songs like 'Smokin' The Captain' and 'Cactus Sack', it's not going to change anything or be taken remotely seriously, but Grind fans will get a healthy fix here. The obviously copious amounts of drunken fun that the members of Cuntscrape had while making this album also helps.

This is adequately played, deliberately offensive, dirty as that old gym sock you use for those special moments alone stuff, joining the likes of Ebolie, Fuck I'm Dead, Captain Cleanoff and everyone's favourite comedians Blood Duster in the local ranks. It'll make you laugh upon early listens, but after much of the humorous appeal has worn off, when the band actually concentrates on making quality Grindcore this album is decent enough to keep you coming back to 'Thrush Bang Mania'. At the very least, it'll be a good way to scare off the local Jehovah's Witnesses while you're nursing that Sunday morning hangover.

Extensive research of the male psyche has learned that the average man thinks about sex every 7 minutes. Being a man I found the results of this research very offensive for the male population. Everybody with a sane mind knows that those 7 minutes are highly underestimated and that non-impotent men think about sex at least every 30 seconds, wet dreams not included. And we should not be ashamed about that; we should celebrate this unique talent to be focussed on one topic.

And here we have an Australian band dedicated solely to spreading that cumloaded message. Cuntscrape is an all-star porn/party grind band featuring members from other gory outfits like Pathogen, Maximum Perversion, Hated By Humanity and some other soft tuned grind orchestra's. 'Thrush Bang Mania' is a very entertaining and varied release mixing grind, thrash and rock 'n roll into a tasty stew of porn inspired music. Expect something like Gronibard meets Blood Duster with a touch of Hemdale.

The explicit artwork, the various porn samples and the inspiring lyrics of songs like 'Thanks For The Mammaries', 'In The Stink' or 'Fucked In The Arse, Shot In The Face' are there for all your perverted wanking needs. But my personal highlight of this album is the black metal parody 'Dark Cold Grim Frostbitten Nocturnal Forest Emissions'. It has been a long time since a track has tickled my laughing organs so thoroughly as this one.

I know some people think 'real' grindcore should deal with subjects like politics, animal rights or religion and they feel offended by the mere existence of something like porn grind. Well, I have one message for those dry-sacked-political-correct-narrow-minded-humourless-vegetarian-grease-haired know-it-all's: get laid!!! 85/100
